Got everything to use my textures today and am having a blast with them. My kids insist on turning the handle for me.

Yeah, I kept looking for some kind of instructions to tell me I did it wrong. No such thing in the package. Well, if it's normal, I won't hesitate using it anymore.

Actually Liz, you are right about the "Big" warning!!! It seems that most of us have no idea when we first buy and use any die cut machine, that we will hear that loud noise or see the cut pad after!!!

I really think a big warning needs to go in the box (or on the box....beware of loud crunch...entirely normal)...LOL

Thanks. I heard the thud of my heart dropping when I ran it through the first time. I thought I did it wrong.

Ditto!!! My heart just dropped when I ran it through and her the crack sound and then the cut in the plate! I have used my 40% off coupons at Michael's and JoAnns and have an extra set of cutting plates - just in case. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Hi Rhonda,

It is supposed to cut into the top layer. I was horrified the first time I did that and I thought I did something wrong. I just try and remember to always use that as my top plate because it will continually cut into it.

Hope this helps.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Liz xx

I have a question. I finally got my big shot and tried it for the first time. Is it supposed to cut into the top layer (the ones you sandwhich it in between) or am I doing something wrong. It didn't come with a lot of instructions.

I browsed the sizzix site for dies in the pro and they have some really nice ones. Can't wait to see what else they come out with to go large.
