Is there a secret on how cut your card stock or designer paper to get the most out of your paper? Do you cut the largest measurement first or the smallest? Are there any tips and hints of basic cutting 101 for a novice scrapbooker who hates to waste paper?

Thanks,

Hi Mi Ran, I generally start with the largest cut first unless there is a specific design element on the page that I wish to preserve, such as a beautiful border. I know sometimes the patterned papers are just too darn cute to cut up so I find myself buying an extra sheet or two.

Thank you! I tend to cut first before measure 300 times! I guess that's why I always buy in bulk....lol!

Mi Ran,
Try this to cut photo mats out of a 12 x 12 sheet. Cut from one side at 6" (you should get 2 12" x 6" sheets. Then cut the length of each at 4" and 8". This will give you (6) 4 x 6 mats. The only problem is you will need to trim your photos just a little bit for these mats, but to cut 6 mats from just one 12" x 12" paper with no scraps can be worth it! :>)
Hope this helps!
