Paper Craft Planet

Paper Crafting, Rubber Stamping, Scrapbooking, and more

Susan Rowe

Been trying to purchase the Card Drawer Organizer tutorial w/templates.

Although I have an account at Pay Pal I'd really rather not use it. I tried to pay the big sum of $4.95 through my credit card but the site would not allow me to do so. If you recall I had an identical problem last week or so. I was/am brand new to PCP & questioned why I was forced to create a Pay Pal account although my credit card vendor was displayed. You told me ten, Susanna, that the problem was mine & that I hadn't tried hard enough to use my card.

So, here I am once again telling you I attempted at least, at least five times to use my credit card to absolutely no avail.

I, also, am one of those unable to accept any friends & have followed the discussion & attempts through ning to get to the point of accepting new friends w/o a problem.

I can see the potiential of this web site & am excited about it. But, I gotta say, everytime I try to do anything here I am thwarted at every attempt I make to participate. I don't want to add to your difficulties right now but can you at least tell me what going on; why these problems? I think I read you've been up a little over a year & should think all the glitches & little bugs would be worked out by now.

Susan, I'm truly sorry that you're having such a hard time with the site -- I can promise you it's not the norm or we wouldn't have grown like this. I'm going to reach out to Adela Rossol (the designer of the organizer) so that she can help you purchase the kit without Pay Pal.

When we spoke last week, your issue wasn't concerning purchasing anything with Pay Pal -- truthfully, we're not a store and there are a few classes that are fee based, but 95% of the site is here for sharing and networking. The problem last week was a bug in the system that I believe was resolved. Am I wrong?

No matter what, feel free to contact me directly at susanna.boyd@gmail.com. We want your experience here to be a positive one -- and it sounds like we're off on the wrong foot for sure!

Susanna, thanks so much for your help. While I freely admit to being computer illiterate I don't usually have as much trouble as I seem to be having here. I participate other places on the web w/little or no problem. Over time I've found that if I slowdown & look around carefully, I can work out any problem I'm having as well as determine if it's coming from my computer (Sweetie) or if I think it's a problem at the site.

I remember contacting you last week because I had a problem but can't recall now whatever it was if it wasn't PP. I could have sworn . . .. General newbie-type questions perhaps? I have had problems accepting new friends. I read the response from ning I just haven't had time to follow-thru yet.

As I mentioned in my earlier call for help I do see the potietial of this place. I am so sorry I haven't had the benefit of it from the git-go. I will eventually catch on, catch up & become an assistence to others.

I especially want to thank you for responding so quickly last week as well as today. I fear a burn out for you if any one else has as many problems as do I.

Becoming a paper artist several years back was the best thing I could have done for myself although it's only the last six months I dared to call myself a "paper artist". None of my crafting friends followed along so I've been all alone learning this entirely new craft. And it has really been lonely! I have drawn strength from the various mags I've learned to search out from specific to rubber stamping to the wonderfully fullfilling card making which has been known to place me in many Zen moments. Eventually, I hope/dream/plan to begin creating large collages. I don't care if anything I do ever brings in any $$$$$. I don't charge for anything I make. It seems wrong to make money from that which is so beneficial to/for me. I care more about the happy & positive emotions I derived from the art of creation.

Again, thanks for all your help, Susanna.

I know just how you feel! My local friends just aren't into this hobby like I am and I just love having an online community to chat and share ideas with. I am proud to say now that some of my closest friends are spread out all over the country and some of them I haven't even met! Crazy blessing, the Internet!

Anyway, I'm glad you can be here in share in what we have to offer!

On a personal note -- if you make something awesome, don't be afraid to charge for your hard work! It's art! It's a blessing when what brings you passion also brings you income!

I was ready some of these and yours caught my attention as I am hoping for a similar outcome of friendships too.

Susan, I wish things were as easy for you here on PCP as they have been for me. Like any other sites, nothing is 100% glitch free. In my own experience, when something doesn't work right with this site or another site, usually the problem has been on my end (internet server, using the wrong browser, not downloading the latest version of an application, etc...).

Regarding purchasing my tutorial, PCP is not the one selling it. If there are any problems with that transaction, I should be the one to contact since I'm selling it as an individual. PCP was just kind enough to mention it to its members. In regards to using PayPal, at this time it is the only form of payment that I'm accepting. I'm probably turning away 10% of potential customers, but right now I'm using PayPal. I will, however, be looking into other options for those not wanting to use PP.

I'm really sorry, Susan. I hope you'll have better luck soon.

O.K., Adela, I can understand if you are using one type of payment over any others. It's your business, you make the rules (although I didn't know you were seperate from pcp until you told me). However, why would you choose to display the logos from credit cards? If I hadn't seen them I would have known that Pay Pal was the only option available to me. Then I could have made an informed choice (Pay Pal or Nothing!) rather then trying to bull-dog MY payment plan through.

I'll get all these little glitches smoothed out real soon & begin to participate more fully. I don't give up easily.

I'll come back tomorrow & follow through. Rigt now I'm fed up w/computers & my cat, Sunshine, is crying to be fed. He KNOWS he'll waste away to nothing but bones if I don't stop what I'm doing & give him his wet food.

Thank You for helping,
Susn Rowe

Susan, the PayPal logo shows all the credit cards so that you'll know that you can use any major credit card to back your Pay Pal account. I personally use American Express to fund my PayPal, since I'm uncomfortable linking it to my personal bank. Sorry for the misunderstanding - that's the logo they gave us.
